The South Lane Women’s Network and Friends of the Cottage Grove Swinging Bridge teamed up on Saturday to
raise funds for the Swinging Bridge. The bridge has been closed since 2016 after the city’s engineer deemed the
structure unsafe for crossing. Estimates for repairs, re-leased from the city, have reached as high at $1 million. Prior
to the event on Saturday which featured live music, a replica Swinging Bridge and local businesses, the community
had raised approximately $10,000 for the bridge’s repair. Estimates for Saturday's fundraising was not available at
deadline.
