CGHS named in top 25 in Oregon

Aft er not having a single
school in the state make it into
the top 100, a year later Oregon
has found two of its high schools
on the list relased annually by
U.S. News and World Report
ranking the top public schools
in the nation.
Cottage Grove High School
ranked 21st in the state and
2,441 in the nation according to
the report released last week.
Th e school's 94 percent grad-
uation rate was cited in the dis-
tinction as well as the school's
advanced placement program
which sees 31 percent of the
population involved.
Principal Mike Ingman said
of the ranking, "Th e staff and
students here at Cottage Grove
High School are truly amazing.
To be recognized for being one
of the top high school’s in the
state gives them the credit that
they deserve." He went on to say,
"Th e community cares so much
for everything that we do here at
the high school. Th is award puts
on paper what we all already
knew; that CGHS is one of the
top schools in the state.

Pat Fordyce, "Teacher Pat," will retire as preschool teacher at
