On Tuesday, March 20, Al
Kennedy High School staff
and students served up a home-
cooked meal for members of the
community as part of a commu-
nity night aimed at expanding
the school's profi le in Cottage
Grove.
The
community's
only
alternative high school is the
subject of an ongoing series in
The Sentinel, chronicling the
struggles and successes of its
students throughout the year.
On Tuesday, students got
to show-off their new cam-
pus at Delight Valley while
newly-minted principal Halie
Ketcher gave a presentation
outling the changes at Kennedy
this year, including her appoint-
ment.
A tour of the new campus
included a stop in the garden
and revealed future plans for
renovations that spanned from
a library space to new digs for
South Lane Mental Health.
A coloring contest yielded
two young winners and raffl e
prizes for the adults included a
gardening set and gift card to
Safeway worth $100.
Look for the next installment
of The Sentinel's series on Ken-
nedy, "Bad Kids" in mid-April.
