2A COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL AUGUST 23, 2017 IN MEMORIAM Catherine Ann Heath 1930-2017 Robert William Spink 1956-2017 Catherine Ann (Getty) Heath, 87, of Cottage Grove passed away Aug. 5, 2017 with her hus- band, Wilbur, by her side. Catherine was born April 1, 1930, in Portland, Ore. to George and Catherine (Brennen) Getty. On Dec. 16, 1950, Catherine and Wilbur were married at the Cottage Grove Catholic Church. They were blessed with two sons: Craig and Jeffry as well as two grandchildren. She was pre- ceded in death by her youngest son, Jeffry. Catherine loved teaching little children which she did for around 20 years in the South Lane School District. She was an avid golf- er and “Beaver Fan”. She played a very good game of duplicate bridge. Catherine and Wilbur traveled much of the United States and Canada in their small airplane. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Cottage Grove. Inurnment at OLPH Catholic Church at a later date. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Bever- ly Spink, and is survived by his children, Julie Ann Spink, Rob- ert Spink, Raymond Spink, Ross Spink, Jenny Gutherie, Jayme Spink, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, long time best friend, Katie Loucks, and sisters, Sandee Bronk, Sharon Thompson, Carol Eberfl us, and Kay Irwin. Robert was born October 4, 1956 in Bellfl ower, Calif. He lived and attended school in Riverside, Calif. He joined the U.S. Navy and was deployed to Vietnam where he participated in “Operation Frequent Wind.” Robert was proud of his service and loved every- thing red, white, and blue. He became a correctional offi ce in Norco, Calif. and also worked law enforcement in Walla Wall, Wash. He had a great love of cars from Hot Wheels to classic ’57 Chevys! Arrangements by Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Eugene Jean Morris 1935 - 2017 Jean Morris passed away August 11, 2017 while residing at River Grove Memory Care in Eugene, Oregon. She was born May 25, 1935 in Ellensburg, Washington to Virginia Alice Morrison and Robert Rye Chambers. She was adopted by her step-father, Frank Coleman, in 1942. Jean married Charles Ross Simmons in Creswell, OR on August 29, 1952, later divorced and married Robert Ray Morris in Eugene, OR on October 8, 1960. Jean lived south of Cottage Grove, OR and attended Latham and Cottage Grove Union High Schools. She lived most of her years in Eugene, and Springfi eld, OR. Jean and her husband Bob enjoyed family, their pool, trips to the coast and their dogs and cats. Jean is survived by her sons Michael Simmons and Patrick Simmons, her grandson Chad Simmons, granddaughter Katie Ann Coghill (Adrian), great-grandchildren Madysin and Wyatt Coghill. She is also survived by her brother Ray Coleman (Sharon) of Gold Bar, WA. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Robert “Bob” Morris. Jean was always there to lend a helping hand, she was loved dearly by her family and friends. Th ere will be a celebration of life in October 2017. She was born December 1, 19 40, in Roanoke, VA to Anthony and Martha (Har- ris) Caserta. Sandy graduated from high school in Whittier, CA. She was a home- maker and small business owner. Sandy owned and operated a yarn and craft store in Norco, CA. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, fl owers, bowling and playing cards. Sandy was a volunteer at the community kitchen at Trinity Lutheran Church and with Meals on Wheels. She married William H. Haynie on December 15, 1961, in Las Vegas, NV. Sandy is survived by her daughter Deborah Sal- dana, Cottage Grove, OR, son Jerry (Kathy) Haynie, Norco, CA, sister Sally (Denis) D’Amour, Flower Mound, TX, sister Jessie Rankin, Ontario, CA, grandchildren; Aaron Saldana, Lyndsey and Jacob Haynie, nephews; Stephen and Christopher D’Amour,. She was preceded in death by her husband William Haynie in 2005. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Fir Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove.
