Meet the
DJ/Program Host
ROB WARD
Rob loves the music he is playing! Rob invites you to tune in on Wednesdays,
call-in your requests and enjoy some great Rock ‘n Roll, Soul and Rhythm &
Blues tunes. Rob was born in San Francisco in 1954 and grew up listening to
KYA 1260 and KEWB 910, then later to KFRC 610. Rob formed his fi rst garage
band in 1966 as a 12- year-old, and continued with the same bandmates until
early 1969. If it was played on top 40 radio, Rob heard it. His love for 50s and
60s music continues today and he loves keeping the music of the 50s and 60s
alive, especially songs that should have been heard, but weren’t. When he’s not
spinning records at KNND, Rob ithe co-owner of Grill & Chill, “the little blue
box that rocks on the corner of 9th and Whiteaker”. He invites you to stop by
and say hi.

Grants Available
The Cottage Grove Historic Landmarks Commission
is extending the opening for applications for the annual
Historic Renovation Grant Program. This program is
designed to assist Downtown business & property own-
ers with needed historic renovations. We have $5,000
to distribute this winter in matching grants of up to
$2,500, depending on the scope of the project.
This is the seventh year of this grant program. Prior
recipients have included the IOOF (sign repair), Crafty
Mercantile (rear door), the Cottage Grove Hotel (new
awning), Burkholder Woods (corbel repair), Mortier
building (Coca Cola mural, masonry repair), 802 E.
Main Street (new stucco, roof repair), the Bookmine
(awning and siding repair), and the First National Bank
(masonry cleaning, windows repair).
The Historic Landmarks Commission will make these
funds available to Downtown Historic District property
owners or tenants who want to make improvements or
perform maintenance on the exterior of their building.
Projects must meet the Secretary of Interior’s Standards
for Rehabilitation to qualify. Also, project work plans
must be approved by the Historic Landmarks Commis-
sion and the State Historic Preservation Offi ce before
work may begin.
Applications must be submitted by September 8, 2017.
Work must be completed (and receipts turned in) by
June 30, 2018.
