New principal for
CG high school
South Lane
School District
has announced
former Kennedy Alternative High
School Principal Mike Ingman as
the newly appointed interim princi-
pal for Cottage Grove High School.
"The 'interim' tag means if either
Ingman or the district doesn't feel it
is a good fi t, he would fi nish the year
and return to his previous position," a press release on
the appointment said.
Ingman has been an employee of the South Lane
School District for 17 years, starting as a social studies
teacher and currently helms Kennedy Alternative High
School. He previously served as principal for Albany
Options School and held a position at South Albany
High School.
"I'm over the moon," Ingman told The Sentinel. "It's an
honor that I won't be taking lightly."
Ingman's appointment comes after current Cottage
Grove High School Principal Iton Udosenata an-
nounced his resignation at a May school board meet-
ing. Udosenata noted his desire to return to North
Eugene.
According to the school district, it intend to work with
the staff at Kennedy to determine the process for hiring
a new principal to replace Ingman.

Friendly Skies for CG couple
Cottage Grove residents Donna Svoboda and Dennis Reynolds pose with the planes they built together. The couple opted for different color patterns but the
planes differ by just two pounds and both enjoy the thrill of fl ying. Photos courtesy Dennis Reynolds. For the complete story, please see page A6.
TINY HOUSE
UPDATE
The Cottage Village Coalition
cmay@cgsentinel.com
(CVC) and SquareOne Villages
have not yet brought a plan be-
fore the city of Cottage Grove but all hands are on deck
to fi nalize the details of the tiny home village planned
for E. Madison Ave. to be dubbed Cottage Village.
The group met early last week to discuss current plans
and the game plan for the property moving forward,
before set plans can be introduced to the city and a sub-
sequent approval process by the city's planning depart-
ment begins.
According to the CVC board, fl oor plans for the 13 tiny
homes are expected to be available at the start of June
with several options available. The goal of the group is
to mix and match several size homes to accomidate the
different families expected to apply for housing.
Board member Katy Owens raised the question of
possible applicants and how the group would go about
creating an application process. While nothing was de-
cided at the meeting, it was suggested that the outreach
team visit meal sites and speak to low-income individ-
uals utilizing the service and inform them of the com-
ing Cottage Village. It was also noted that the group
may rely on interest forms from individuals before
offi cial applications are created and distributed.
Utilities were also on the agenda with subcommittees
discussing the possibility of using one meter for all 13
tiny homes and possibly implementing solar panels
on the structures. However, it was noted that if solar
were to be introduced to Cottage Village, all 13 homes
would have to be equipped with the technology or none
of the homes would have it.
SquareOne purchased the land on Madison last month
