The 1958 Black Sox return to Drain to dedicate North
Douglas field
On Saturday, May 13, players from the 1958 national-title winning, semi-pro baseball team, the
Black Sox returned to Drain. At North Douglas' fi eld, the players met today's high school team, don-
ning old fashioned uniforms and saw the fi eld dedicated in their honor. Original players Dan Luby and
Irv Roth came out for the event and current high school senior Brent Taylor was the lucky catcher to
receive for the 1958 players.
