Evelyn Leola Barber, 78 of
Creswell, OR passed away
April 19, 2017 of Alzhei-
mer’s.
She was born Dec. 25, 1938
in Portland, OR to Henry and
Josephine (Yoder) Wallace.
After high school, she attended college for a short time.
On Jan. 19, 1957 in Yoder, OR, she and Albert R. Bar-
ber were married. He preceded her in death in 2014.
She worked for Cottage Grove Schools driving school
bus for over 25 years.
Evelyn enjoyed riding horses and was a barrel racing/
pole bending champion in the State of Oregon and
around the Northwest. She also traveled the senior pro
rodeo circuit, was a member of multiple riding clubs
and Secretary for the Cottage Grove Rodeo for many
years. Evelyn loved spending time with her family
and was especially fond of a little friendly competition
with outside games (from softball to bocce ball), board
games and puzzles.
She is survived by daughter Debra (Roger) Healy,
Mesa, AZ; daughter Terri (James B) Leach IV, Rose-
burg, OR; daughter Kathy (Ron) Ward, Cottage Grove,
OR; daughter Penny (Colby) Willis, Colbert, WA;
daughter Patsy (David) Hayes, Cottage Grove, OR;
brother Joseph Wallace, Long Creek, OR; sister Jewel
Wallace, Yoder, OR; sister Dorothy Vasquez, Molalla,
OR; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 13
from 2-5 p.m. at the Village Green Resort in Cottage
Grove. Memorial contributions to the Evelyn Barber
Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team at act.alz.org or checks
payable to Alzheimer’s. Arrangement in the care of
Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel, Cottage Grove.

Evelyn Barber 1938-2017
Stan Page of Creswell passed away
on March 25 from advanced mela-
noma.
Stan was born on July 14, 1955 in
Santa Monica, California, to Rog-
er and Phyllis Page. He spent his
childhood in Concord, CA, moving
to the Eugene area in the early ‘80s.
He married Linda Wilder in 1992 and later moved to a small farm
in Creswell in 2000.
Stan was widely known through his distribution business, soft-
ball teams and church activities, but he and his wife may be
best known for sharing their love of animals, including sheep, at
parades, Nativities, nursing homes, etc.
Stan leaves wife Linda, of 24 years; sister Carole, husband Paul,
2 nieces; brothers Mitch and Rich; father Roger and stepmother
Mila. He is predeceased by his mother.
A celebration of life will be held on May 20 at Berean Assembly
of God in Springfi eld with meal at 2:00, service at 3:30. Donations
may be made to Pete Moore Hospice House.
Justin Kelsey 2001-2017
Justin Kelsey, 16, of Cottage
Grove died April 22, 2017.
He was born March 20, 2001 to
April Brown and Jason Kelsey.
He attended London School and
Childs Way Charter School.
Justin enjoyed building and rac-
ing RC cars, video editing and video
games.
Survivors include his mother,
April Brown of Reedsport, father, Jason Kelsey of Cottage Grove,
and three siblings, Andrue Brown, Samantha Kelsey and Elizabeth
Brown, all of Cottage Grove.
A Celebration of Life will be held May 6, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the
Dorena Grange. Memorial contributions may be given via gofund-

Braden
1923-2017
Doris Mildred (Oldmixon) Braden
passed away on April 20, 2017 at Mead-
ow Creek Assisted Living Facility in Sa-
lem, Oregon under the loving care of her
three children.
She was born on July 21, 1923 in
Berkley, Massachusetts to Edmund Ro-
land and Madeline Henry (French) Old-
mixon.
Doris had three brothers: George, Bob (both deceased) a nd Dick.
She married Carl Otis Braden April 13, 1947 in Dighton, Massa-
chusetts. Survivors include children Carol Ann Lanning (husband Eu-
gene Lanning) of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Steven Robert Braden (wife
Debra Merrick) of Salem, Oregon and Barry Matthew Braden (wife
Elizabeth Ann Houck) of Merritt Island, Florida, grandchildren Jason
Kipp Lanning, Bryan Curtis Lanning, Kyle Bradley Lanning, Christo-
pher Robert Braden, and Alexander Houck Braden, and 11 great grand-
children.
Doris was an Executive Secretary at the Weyerhaeuser plant in
Cottage Grove, Oregon from 1965 until she retired on November 18,
1983. She served as a church secretary in retirement at Cottage Grove
First United Methodist Church.
Her hobbies included gardening, knitting, crotcheting and cele-
brating the accomplishments of her family. She was preceded in death
by Carl Otis Braden.
Arrangements are in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel
in Cottage Grove.
