Our Mission: Th e Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce promotes economic vitality through
advocacy and collaboration with its members and the larger community.
Yard of the Week
Th e Yard of the Week is an opportunity for the City and Chamber of Commerce to recognize
residents that make an outstanding contribution to beautifying the community through the
maintenance and care of their own yard.  Any single family residence with a yard visible
from the street is eligible for the recognition.  Nominated homes are reviewed each week by
the illustrious Yard of the Week prize patrol and a weekly winner is selected.  Th e winners
of the Yard of the Week are recognized by the coveted Yard of the Week sign in their yard,
a photo of their yard on the City’s Yard of the Week webpage, a gift certifi cate from the
Chamber of Commerce and a credit for a month of free water from the City. 
Th e 2017 Yard of the Week season is just around the corner with the fi rst yard being selected
on Friday May 12 th and runs through the last full week of September. So start looking for
those spectacular yards in the community that deserve recognition as Yard of the Week!  All
single-family residential yards within the City limits are eligible to win.
Nominations for this notable recognition can be made by simply turning in the address of
the homes worthy of recognition to City Hall or the Chamber offi ce; by phone call the City
Manager’s offi ce at (541)942-5501 or the Chamber offi ce at (541)942-2411; by email to:
citymanager@cottagegrove.org or travis@cgchamber.com or in person at the front desk at
City Hall or the Community Center.

Come with us and Discover China!
China is our second largest export market. Already the world’s largest market for cars,
cell phones and seafood, it is the fastest growing market for luxury goods, air passengers
and nuclear power. China has the most internet users and online game players, the longest
high speed rail network and the busiest port. There are well over 100 cities in China with
a population of more than one million and, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit,
the economy will grow at rates of about eight per cent per annum for the next decade. In
China’s case, seeing is believing.
That is why we are excited to announce a special invitation from the Cottage Grove Area
Chamber of Commerce to join us in April of 2018 to Discover China! Citslinc is one of the
largest providers of foreign tours to China and works exclusively with over 800 Chambers
of Commerce in Canada and the US.
As an exclusive benefi t for Cottage Grove Chamber members we are partnering
with Citslinc International Inc. to provide a 10 day, all-inclusive tour of
Beijing, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai for Cottage Grove Area Chamber of
Commerce members and their employees for only $2,099 per person. This trip is
available to non-Chamber members for an additional charge of $200 per person. Prices are
based on two person shared accommodation, single occupancy is available for an additional
charge of $500.
This fully escorted trip is meant to be an introduction to the people, history, culture,
commerce and daily life of this exciting country. The itinerary is packed with sights
and activities that will give you a full and rewarding experience. There will also be an
opportunity for Chamber members to make business contacts in China. The trip departs on
April 3, 2018, returning April 12, 2018.

May Business After Hours
South Lane Mental Health will host Business After Hours on Thursday, May 19 from 5:30
– 7:00pm, 1345 Birch Avenue. Please join us for a time to network with others, learn
something new, and have some fun! And don’t forget your business card to enter the door
prize drawing. Your attendance reinforces the spirit in which the Chamber provides these
monthly activities. Cottage Grove and Creswell Chamber members are encouraged to
attend this classic, fun networking event!
Th e Carnival is Coming!
Davis Shows NW takes great pride in providing safe family oriented rides, games, and quality
food concessions. As a traveling amusement company, they are able to off er their family
friendly carnival experience at fair grounds, shopping centers, other prime locations, and
they’re coming to Cottage Grove! You will fi nd them at Bohemia Park June 1 through June 4.
Pre-sale tickets are available for $20 and can be purchased through May 31 at the following
locations: 5 Flying Monkeys, Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, Cottage Grove
Sentinel, Scarpelli’s Short Stop, and Shampoo Dolls Salon.
Two Ribbon Cuttings in May!
Emerald Fitness Club (formally known as Better Bodies) was purchased by Shane & Sara
May April 1, 2016. They also purchased Ironworks Gym in Creswell, which is now known
as Emerald Fitness Club or EFC. Having both clubs opens up the option for a dual member-
ship, more classes, access to the heated pool, hot tub, sauna’s, tanning, personal training and
the list goes on! Emerald Fitness Club, Cottage Grove moved to its new location in Dec.
2016. The new location offers a larger space, better parking, access to the running trail, and
space in the back for outdoor workouts/bootcamps. It has been an incredible year for them!
Their goal is to create a fun, safe, welcoming, non judgmental environment where people
love coming, get fi t and have fun doing so! They have an amazing team, their clubs are fully
staffed at all times and the team loves visiting and getting to know their members! They
are excited to spread our love for fi tness! So join us on Wednesday May 24, 5:00pm at 240
Gateway Blvd to check out their new digs, learn more about all they have to offer, and wel-
come them to the neighborhood!
South Lane Mental Health will celebrate the opening of an outpatient substance use
disorder program for adolescents (ages 14 and up), adults with a dual diagnosis of a
mental/emotional health and substance use problem, and individuals who are currently
on, or expected to be on, prescription medication for pain. South Lane Mental Health was
established in Cottage Grove in 1988. Th e nonprofi t organization’s mission is to restore hope
and renew lives through mental health services, support, and advocacy. Services include:
outpatient community-and school-based counseling, crisis response, medication and
case management, a model Intensive Community-based Treatment Services for Children
program, and a foster home and supported living services for adults with persistent and
severe mental illness. Help us celebrate with them by attending this ribbon cutting on
Th ursday May 25, 3:30 pm at their new outpatient clinic, 75 S. 5 th Street.
Call For Vendors
Th e Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking vendors for the 2017 Market.
Th e market takes place in conjunction with the Concerts in the Park beginning June 22 rd
continuing every Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00pm through August 30, 2017 at Bohemia Park.
Food Vendors pay a fee of $20.00 each week or $15/week if paid in full at the beginning
of the season.
Non-Food Vendors (art, craft s, info displays, etc.) pay a fee of $10 each week or $5.00/
week if paid in full at the beginning of the season.
All Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce members can participate for FREE

Th e Main Street Chili Cook Off is just around the corner.  Join us on Saturday, July 22 for a
day full of fun, fun, fun!  You can participate as a chili cooker, chili taster (who gets to vote)
or vendor.  And don’t forget classic cars will line the streets at KNND’s Car Show with the
cruise and street dance aft er.   However you participate, you’ll be glad you did.  Download
the entry form from our website or pick it up at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center,
700 E. Put your chili recipe to the test and sign up today!
