Lion's Pride Pageant has busy weekend of fundraising
Cottage Grove High students work to raise money for children

The Lion's Pride
Pageant is hoping
to raise funds for
the Miracle Chil-
dren's Network and last week they put their best
effort forward.
On Wednesday, April 4, pageant contestants
faced-off against Cottage Grove High School staff
in a basketball game that saw students racing into
the stands to collect donations from the crowd.
Richard Flores, Chris Wells and Dan Glaizer
were a few of the staff members who faced off
against the student staff lead by Blake Sentman
and Kory Parent.

to answer on their fi rst two attempts. Both teams
were on the board within the fi rst two minutes
with the staff slower on the return by minute fi ve.
By the second period, staff led students 29 to 17
with crowd-pleasing three-pointers from both
sides.
Thursday saw the Lion Priders out again, this
time invading El Tapitio's restaurant downtown.
Residents who dined at the restaurant saw 20 per-
cent of their bills donated to the cause.
The Lion's Pride Pageant will be held on Sat-
urday, April 22 with students discovering what
group member garnered the most funds for char-
ity.
