Dorena school update
Basketball is bouncing down
and its time the get ready for
baseball. With baseball sea-
son comes…Sluggo and the
Emerald’s Reading Challenge.
Dorena enjoyed a fun time
with Sluggo, the Em’s mascot
and got started on fi lling their
bookmarks up with books they
have read. The goal is to fi ll the
bookmark and win a ticket to an

Mrs. Munson arranged for
Greenhill Humane Society to
bring a dog to school. The stu-
dents learned about the respon-
sibilities of taking care of a pet.

the Month is Natalie Ander-
son, she is a kindergarten
student in Mrs. Fournier’s
class. Mrs. Fournier writes,
“Natalie is an outstanding
student in our classroom.
She strives to do her best
in everything she does, is
always willing to help oth-
ers, and continues to set
a good example with ex-
cellent PAX behaviors.

Th e London School Student of Th e
Month is 4th grader Emily Camp-
bell-Cunningham. Emily is in Mr.
Alkire’s 4th/5th combo class. Just
this month, Emily won the Noble
Knight Award at London School
for being a student who is consis-
tently on task and focused. She has
shown great maturity as a 4th grad-
er and is always so positive. Emily
also is a member of the London
Nerds Oregon Battle of the Books
team, and enjoys being challenged.
Students have to read several books
to compete in this competition.
Th is is an example of Emily’s team
spirit and drive. She is nice to her
fellow classmates and everyone else
at school. We are proud to nomi-
nate Emily for our Student of Th e
Month!
