WORD ON THE STREET
What's your favorite thing about Cottage Grove?
"The Cottage Theatre. It's my home
away from home. I'm the artistic di-
rector and occasionally, I act. We call
it the sucking sound. Once you're in,
it sucks all of your time. I've volun-
teered 2,000 hours in a year. I call it
my second full-time job that I don't
get paid for."-Amanda Ferguson, Cot-
tage Grove City Planner
"What I love about Cottage Grove
is the small-town feeling where you
can walk around town, shop and feel
safe while doing it."-Jeff Gowing,
Cottage Grove Mayor
"My favorite thing is the people.
Cottage Grove is almost a unique-
ly friendly community. I fi nd myself
amazed almost weekly to fi nd another
group working to help their neigh-
bors."- Jake Boone, Cottage Grove
City Councilman
