mation Open House from 3-6 p.m.
Nov. 17 in Springfi eld for those
interested in a career as a Medi-

Nurse. The event will be held at
PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medi-
cal Center at RiverBend, located

visit Roseburg to talk about taxes
as they pertain to forestland own-
ers. Preparing forestland taxes can

income, provide tips on how to
improve forestland records and
talk about how to minimize the
taxes paid for income generated

hope you all come to Lorane Grange for its taco dinner
and bingo this Friday, Nov. 18. Dinner starts at 5:30
p.m. with bingo starting at 6:30 pm. The progressive bin-
go blackout has grown, and there is still a delightful 50/50
raffl e.
The next half-day for art is Nov. 22 with artist Donna
Crispin teaching how to weave a basket with a wooden base.
Participants will use a reed and yarn to create a “lovely, small
unique basket”. Some high school students with interest in
working with children and art are needed to help, and they
can earn three hours’ community service credit.
The holiday season is upon us, and it is time to think of
those in need. The Lorane food bank will help those who
need food staples during the Thanksgiving time, and Markay
or Kathy Drullinger can be contacted for supplies. Also,
it’s time once again to start planning for the community
Christmas baskets. Boxes will be up in all organizations
until Dec. 15 to receive non-perishable food items. Baskets
will be delivered on Dec. 17. Those who would like to do-
nate money, ham, or turkeys can contact Sande Maxwell at
541-942-5083. Once again this year, the Angel Trees are
going up to help children in the communities of Lorane and
Crow. They will coordinate with Sande.
The Lorane Grange Christmas Dinner and open house
is scheduled on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m. The Grange
provides the turkey, dressing, ham, potatoes and beverages.
Everything else is potluck, and the community is welcome.
There will be a half-day of school on Tuesday, Nov. 22
with evening conferences, no school Nov. 23 with morning
conferences and no school Nov. 24 and 25 for Thanksgiv-
ing. Also, Middle school girls basketball practice happens
at Applegate 3:30 p.m. everyday. High school basketball
practiced started on Monday, Nov. 14.
