and a time to every purpose under
the heaven.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1
A
s the seasons changed from
summer to fall last week, Cot-
tage Grove Faith Center members
are also ending one season and be-
ginning a new one with the departure
of Pastor Isaac Hovet after fi ve years
of service. The 1997 Creswell High
School graduate attended Life Pa-
cifi c College in Southern California,
where God used music to introduce
his future wife, Donia. They married
in 2001 and returned to Oregon to be-
come ministry partners -- who have
since added three children to their
family. After serving seven years as
a youth and associate pastor at Ever-
green Christian Center in Hillsboro,
OR, he was called to be the senior
pastor at Cottage Grove Faith Center
(CGFC).
“At the end of 2010, I was asked to
consider moving my family to Cot-
tage Grove to assume the lead pastor
position at Cottage Grove Faith Cen-
ter. After a couple of months of pro-
cessing, we said yes and were very
surprised to fi nd ourselves back in
South Lane County,” Hovet recalled.
“Early on we were determined to love
the people in the church, but even
more so to love the people of Cot-
tage Grove. Over time, as our church
gained momentum, we began a sec-
ond service and developed the motto
that continues to breathe life into our
