The girls' soccer team struggled to fi nd
an answer against Philomath on Tues-
day. The Lions lost 4-0 against the War-
riors at their home-opener, and the team
was handed its fi rst loss of the season.
The team struggled to get the balls to its
star forward, Kiana Hemenway (shown
to the right pushing the ball forward with
a header) and the defense was unable
to help the goalie. The Warriors were up
2-0 by halftime, and the Lions suffered
a crushing defeat just a few days after
handing their own dominant perfor-
mance to Astoria in a 6-0 win.
