DIVISION L- LIVESTOCK

RULES AND REGULATIONS
Some rules are new. Please read carefully
1. All exhibitors of animals must register ani-
mals before August 1, 2016. Any entries post
marked after August 1 or entered day of will be
double the normal entry fee. Entry fees are $3.00
per animal exhibited, $6.00 after August 1.
Entry fees cap off at $50.00. Exhibitors must
bring their livestock to the fairgrounds Thursday
from Noon To 5:00PM. No entries will be
accepted after 6:00 PM Thursday. Please mail

ATTENTION: livestock entries checks made to
W.O.E.
NO VEHICLES will be permitted in the barn area
after animals are registered on Thursday.
NO Vehicles on Friday & Saturday so make sure
your supplies and feed are clearly marked and left at
the barn on Thursday.
2. All changes in entries must be made with the
superintendent. The superintendent has the right
to refuse any exhibit that does not meet 4-H
standards.
3. Animals must have been purchased prior to June
1/have lease paperwork dated no later than June
1. Entry fees for animals are to be paid at the
livestock barn when animals are entered. Show-
manship classes are Free.
4. All stock is entered and shown at the risk of the
owner. The Fair is not responsible for loss or
damage. All reasonable vigilance in the care of
exhibits will be exercised.
4. Exhibitors must attend to their animals during
the fair and attend to their removal at the end of the
fair. Premium age limits are 4-12th grade (18 years
old). Premium Checks will be sent in the mail ass
soon as possible after the fair.
5. Exhibitors may enter as many animals in one
class as they would like but only one premium
will be awarded per exhibitor. For families
sharing animals only one animal may be entered
in one youth age group, no sharing project ani-
mals or double entering.
6. Exhibitors of livestock must keep the part of
quarters occupied by their livestock neat, clean
and in a safe condition or forfeit $5 before leav-
ing the fairgrounds. 4-H Rule, all animal exhib-
itors are required to stand barn duty
7. Each exhibitor must register daily by 8:30 AM
in the livestock barn to be able to show that day.
Animals must be fed and watered before 9 AM,
and before leaving at night.
8. Livestock may not be removed before 4:45 PM
Sunday unless you have written permission
from the barn superintendent before hand. 4-H
Rule, exhibitors who remove (without written
permission) their exhibits early will not receive
premium monies and may not be allowed to
enter the Fair next year.
9. All large animals must be double tied, i.e., halter
and neck rope/chain.
10. All (4-H)youth livestock exhibitors MUST
show in showmanship.
11. Animals entered for exhibit only will be accept-
ed on a space available basis only. Be prepared
to supply your own cages for small animals.
12. “For sale” signs cannot be put up until after the
animal is judged. The superintendent will supply
the signs. No premium will be paid to exhibit
only animals.
LIVESTOCK SHOWMANSHIP
Each division of livestock shall have a showmanship
class, each exhibitor must compete in showmanship in
their age group. Exhibitors must use their own project
animals. All Champion showman shall compete in
Round Robin on Sunday, if an exhibitor wins multiple
areas of livestock they must choose one to compete in
and a reserves will take their place in the others.
SHOWMANSHIP DIVISIONS
Based off current school year not fall school year.
Class 1—-senior division, grades 10-12
Class 2—-intermediate division, grades 7-9
Class 3—-junior division, grades 4-6
Class 4—-novice division, grades 3 and under, or
youth under 18 years of age who have never shown an
animal before.
Class 5—-adult division, over 18 years
Class 6—-Feeder lamb
Class 7—-Overweight, over 140 pounds
HERDSMANSHIP
Individual/Club /Group/Team
TROPHY AWARD
The Herdsmanship contest rewards youth
exhibitors for presenting a good exhibit to the public,
while demonstrating skills in courtesy, cooperation,
knowledge, neatness and proper care of animals. There
will be two divisions in herdsmanship; individual and
club.
KNND FAIR PLAY AWARD
A Trophy will be awarded to a youth livestock
participant with top sportsmanship qualities. The
winner will be selected by a vote of other exhibi-
tors. All awards will be presented at the awards cer-
emony on Sunday. Other Special Awards maybe
presented at this time
JOHN RAADE INDIVIDUAL AWARD
Will be awarded to an individual displaying
outstanding knowledge and care of their animal while
exhibiting in classes throughout the three days of the
fair.
