RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Exhibitors are requested to read carefully the
Fair rules and regulations in the front of this book.
All general rules apply to each division.
2. Articles submitted to the fair must be the hand-
work of the exhibitor.
3. All entries must have been completed within the
year following the last fair.
4. Exhibits consisting of more than one piece must
be securely fastened together.
5. Entries MUST BE CLEAN AND
PRESSED OR BLOCKED, to be accepted as
exhibits.
6. Pictures and wall hangings must be finished and
ready to hang.
7. Only amateurs may exhibit for competition. Pro-
fessionals (those who earn more than 50% of their
income for their work) are encouraged to display their
work for exhibit.
STANDARDS FOR JUDGING
Workmanship in relation to pattern
and fabric. 40%
Suitability of purpose and/or occasion. 20%
General appearance, neatness, blocking, press-
ing cleanliness, etc 20%
Harmony of colors & materials. 20%
CLASSES/ SUBSECTIONS
All of the textile classes have the following sec-
tions:
i Seniors’ (over 65)
i Ladies’
i Men’s
i Juniors’ (13/10, 9/6, 5/0)
i Antique Pieces
Your exhibit will be classified at the time of entry
and by class and section.
AWARDS
1st, 2nd and 3rd ribbon awards will be issued for
judged exhibits in each class and subsection.
In addition, the following “Best” awards will be
issued:
i Best of Antique Pieces
i Best of Senior
i Best of Junior
i Best of Quilting
i Best of Crochet or Knit
i Best Use of Theme
i Best of Holiday
i Best of Show - Textiles
CLASS 1 — THEME OF FAIR
May be any Textiles exhibit item (quilt, crochet,
artistic handwork, etc) that displays the current
them of the fair. This will be determined at the
time of entry.
CLASS 2 — CROCHET
Lot 1 - Doilies, under 14 inches
Lot 2 - Centerpiece, 14 in. or over a.
Lot 3 - Table Linens
Lot 4 - Kitchen items (pot holders, towels)
Lot 5 - Bathroom Items (tissue holders, hand
towels, etc.)
Lot 6 - Edging or Lace
Lot 7 - Pillows (must be filled and finished)
Lot 8 - Afghans
Lot 9 - Infant blankets or afghans
Lot 10-Baby garments
Lot 11-Children’s garments
Lot 12-Adult garments
Lot 13-Toys
Lot 14- Any felted item
Lot 15-Dolls
Lot 16-Any other crocheted item.
CLASS 3 — KNIT
Lot 1 - Doilies, under 14”
Lot 2 - Centerpiece, over 14”
Lot 3. Table Linens
