Burleson says that he loves
how the sport has changed as
athletes just seem to get better
and better.
The legendary mile runner
still lives locally, and the Tri-
als bring back memories of his
decorated track career.
In 2010, Burleson was induct-
ed into the National Track and
Field Hall of Fame and is also
a member of the Cottage Grove
High School Hall of Fame.
