COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL May 4, 2016 3B SPEEDWAY CONTINUED FROM PG 1B living in Springfi eld, got to the front early. King got passed on lap two by Chris Sine, and Sine wae incredibly fast, prac- tically going unchallenged the rest of the way. A handful of cautions bunched the fi eld up, but each time there was a re- start, Sine would reestablish a commanding lead. Sine would get his second straight victory despite being one of the last cars to show up due to reassembling an engine. Jasper’s Andrew Langan was second, while behind him in third was Evan Britton from Cot- tage Grove. The balance of the top fi ve would consist of Coos Bay’s Daniel Land in fourth and fi fth going to Matt King. Fast time of the night be- longed to Evan Britton, and get- ting the job done in the Dot’s Trophy Shop Trophy Dash was Coquille’s Steve Dubisar. Sine won the one and only heat race during the evening. Last but not least, the Qual- ity RV Repair Hornets would put on a good show. Phoenix youngster Justin McCreadie put together an incredible per- formance in only his second time ever in a race car. The 15J Chevy Cavalier of McCreadie was the car to beat for a good number of laps. McCreadie led until lap seven, but even then he would hang with the new leader, Westfi r’s Josh Corley. Corley weaved in and out traffi c, only for McCreadie and a couple others to stick right with him. A few stoppages kept everyone close to Corley, but he was just a little bit better on the restarts. Corley ended the eve- ning in the winner’s circle for the second straight occasion. Harrisburg’s James McClure was second, followed by Jus- tin McCreadie in third. James Simmons of Eugene, placed in fourth, followed by Cottage Grove’s Mike Simmons in fi fth. Springfi eld native K.C. Scott was the fast time of the night, and Josh Corley was victorious in the Dot’s Trophy Shop Tro- phy Dash. Marcola’s Anthony Wahto, Josh Corley, and Eu- gene’s Ray Nikzat, in his Rick L Racing machine, were the three heat race winners. Cottage Grove Speedway re- turns to racing on Friday, May 6 for the fi rst Kage Kart race of the year after the original April 22 event was rained out. Gen- eral Admission is FREE and Pit Passes are $10 and Car and Driver fees will be $35. The Pit Gate will open up around 3 p.m. and the Pit Meeting is at 6 p.m. with Hot Laps and Racing to follow.
