    GIVING BACK - COTTAGE GROVE AREA NON-PROFITS - MARCH 23, 2016 - 13
Cottage Grove Masonic Lodge #51
Of Cottage Grove
was chartered
on July 31, 1871
The members of Lodge #51 are dedicated
to our community. We sponsor a breakfast,
which is open to the public, every third
Sunday of the month, 8am until 11am. The
proceeds go towards Cottage Grove High
School Scholarship. We invite you to join
us. Bring a nonperishable food item and we will take a dollar off the price
of your breakfast. The food donations are delivered to Community sharing
when we get a barrel full. We offer scholarships at the Cottage Grove High
School to any eligible senior who is interested in attending a trade college.
We encourage your enquires. At the elementary level, throughout the
Cottage Grove area, we sponsor the “Bikes for Books” program, which was
developed to encourage youngsters to read. For more information call the
Cottage Grove Masonic Lodge at 541-942-2353 and leave your name and
telephone number and a message.
Order of the Eastern Star #4
Of Cottage Grove
was chartered on
July 24, 1880
A gentleman, who believed that the wives
and other female family members should
have an organization that both male and
female could belong to, developed this
group. That idea blossomed into the
Order of the Eastern Star. Our order is an
active supporter of Rainbow for Girls, Jobs Daughters, and the Order of
the DeMolay, our youth groups. We donate through Oregon philanthropic
committees to Cancer Research through OHSU and others such as Heart
Disease, and scholarships to those qualifying individuals interested in a
religion based education. For more information call The Cottage Grove
Masonic Lodge at 541-942-2353 and leave your name and telephone
number and a message.
Emerald Court #28
Order of the Amaranth of Cottage
Grove
was chartered on
March 5, 1955
This order was founded for basically
the same reason as Eastern Star. We
are also active supporters of the youth
groups. Our philanthropic service is
dedicated to Diabetes Research. In 1990
a Master Mason who was a Member of
Amaranth, with the assistance of Oregon members of Amaranth, began an
aluminum recycling drive, and by the year 2000 it was reported that we
had raised over $100,000 through recycling aluminum alone. We are the
highest in donations to diabetes research worldwide. For more information
call the Cottage Grove Masonic Lodge at 541-942-2353 and leave your
name and telephone number and a message.
