The Lions, n their usual
manner, scored early in the
fi rst period to get the jump on
a bewildered Indian eleven.
The Indians received the kick-
off but found the CG line too
tough and were forced to kick
on third down. The Lions
promptly started a drive that
climaxed when Noel Campbell
circled his right end and ran 40
yards for the touchdown. New-
ton ran left end for the conver-
sion.
The fi rst period ended 7-0
for the Lions.

The Cottage Grove Lions
captured the Tri-County league
lead last Friday by defeating a
tough Roseburg team 21-0.
Coach Dusenberry’s charg-
es, led by the Lions’ driving
fullback Noel Campbell, who
scored all three touchdowns
for the Lions, rolled up 290 net
yards and 15 fi rst downs to the
Indians’ 80 net yards and eight

A person came into the station to
report a theft of a bicycle. The bike
is described as “giant STP bike with
camo paint and brown rims” the esti-
mated value is $1,000

On Monday, Oct. 19, City Manager Richard
Meyers recognized and thanked employees for
their years of service with an afternoon of ice
cream. This year the recipients for the years
of service awards were:

Bohemia Park. The dispute was most-
ly verbal although there was some
pushing and shoving. Both subjects
were asked to leave their friends’ res-
idence. The subjects were contacted
by an offi cer and the female reported
that the male had repeatedly punched
her in the head. Both parties were
taken into custody for assault.
The manager at McDonald’s ad-
vised that there is a male walking
through the truck parking area with-
out any pants on.

A person was taken into custody on

A Lane County Sheriff’s Offi ce
vehicle was found parked in Swiss-
home with its placed stolen off of a
vehicle that was parked at the loca-
tion. The plate was found on an unli-
censed Chevy short box pickup truck
that was white in color.

The City Manager met with Ness Zolan,
General Manager and Lindsey McCarthy,
Marketing Director from the Eugene Sympho-
ny on Tuesday and discussed the Symphony
concert held at Bohemia Park in July. The City
reports that planning has begun for the Sym-
phony to return next year on Monday, July 18,
2016 at 7:30 p.m.
Plans are also being made to try to hold an
"Instrument Petting Zoo" for children to get to
touch musical instruments and visit with pro-
fessional musicians in the library.
