Michael Tharpe carries the ball across midfi eld. Tharpe had over 200 kick return yards and a touchdown on Friday against Sweet Home.

He was accompanied by start-
ing running back Zane Levings,
who ran the ball 13 times for
109 yards. In total, the Lions
offense ran the ball 29 times
for 216 yards and three touch-
downs. That’s a team average of
7.4 yards per carry.This means
their offense was still able to
put up numbers in the running
game, and outside of the three
interceptions, Sentman throw-
ing for over 100 yards again is
still promising.
The passing game once again
spread the ball around. Sentman
hit fi ve different receivers that
day. Kory Parent led the way
with three catches for 68 yards
and a touchdown, while the oth-
er top producers were Howell
with four catches for 30 yards
and Evan Britton (two catches
for 17 yards). Other touches
came from Levings and Payton
Presley.
On defense, the Lions saw a
lot of hardship with blown as-
signments.
“Our scheme was solid,”
Roberts said, “Unfortunately we
had kids not do what they are
coached to do and that kills us.”
42 points is hard to swallow,

and the Lions will have to con-
centrate in practice this week,
but as long as their energy and
passion remains the same as it
has been for the past few weeks,
there isn’t much concern about
the team’s ability to succeed.
On special teams, the Lions
saw Michael Tharpe rack up
over 200 yards returning, along
with being able to take one kick-
off all the way for a TD. His kick
return game has been successful
all season.
The Lions will look to disci-
pline themselves this week as
they travel to Sisters to take on
the Outlaws on Friday, Oct. 9.
