Exhibit Information
GENERAL INFORMATION
The fairgrounds and buildings will be open for con-
struction and commercial booths prior to the Fair open-
ing. Read the rules carefully and
prepare to comply with their requirements. Livestock
exhibitors, give special attention to rules 2 & 4 under
Division L-Livestock.
EXHIBITORS RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. All Fair departments (except Division L) will be open
for the entering of exhibits on Wednesday from Noon-8
pm Thursday, 8 am to Noon. No exhibits can be entered
after Noon, Thursday.
2. Junior Exhibitors shall be any exhibitor 13 years and
under. Intermediate Exhibitors shall be any exhibitor
14- 17. Entries will be judged separately from the adult
division. They must be marked “JR” and “INT.”
3. Department heads shall have the latitude to use those
entries submitted, for the best interest of the exhibitor
and the Fair.
4. Exhibitors may make two entries in each lot and
other exhibits in that lot must be labeled for exhibit
only , except Division L (livestock) and
Division F (produce).
5. Blue ribbons are designated for first premiums, red
ribbons for second premiums, and white ribbons for
third premiums. All blue, red and white stickers shall
be placed by the superintendents at the time of judging.
Rosette for “Best of Show” in each division.
6. Any person interfering with the judges during judg-
ing will forfeit the right of premiums. All officers are
required, and exhibitors requested, to report any vio-
lation of this rule to the Fair Board.
7. All judges should read the rules in their divisions,
and abide by them.
8. Anyone removing an exhibit before closing time -
4:00 pm Sunday will forfeit any awards or premium.
9. The Fair Board and superintendents will use every
precaution to guard and protect exhibits, but cannot be
responsible for loss or damage by any cause.
10. Exhibits will be open to the public from 10 am-9
pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 am-4:00 pm
on Sunday.
11. Superintendents will CLOSE EXHIBITS AT 4:00
pm SUNDAY to get entries ready for pick-up. All other
Fair activities will continue until 5:00 pm when Fair
closes. Exhibitors may claim entries after 4:15pm
12. Division L will take entries Thursday from 10 am-8
pm Judging will begin at 10 am Friday.
13. Premiums will be paid by the treasurer after judging
is completed.
14. PICK UP ALL EXHIBITS AFTER 4:15 pm

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Exhibitors are requested to read carefully the Fair
rules and regulations in the front of this book. All general
rules apply to each division.
2. Articles submitted to the fair must be the handwork of
the exhibitor.
3. All entries must have been completed within the year
following the last fair.
4. Exhibits consisting of more than one piece must be
securely fastened together.
5. Entries MUST BE CLEAN AND PRESSED OR
BLOCKED, to be accepted as exhibits.
6. Pictures and wall hangings must be finished and ready
to hang.
7. Only amateurs may exhibit for competition.
Professionals (those who earn more than 50% of their
income for their work) are encouraged to display their
work for exhibit.
STANDARDS FOR JUDGING
Workmanship in relation to pattern
and fabric. 40%
Suitability of purpose and/or occasion. 20%
General appearance, neatness, blocking, pressing cleanli-
ness, etc 20%
Harmony of colors & materials. 20%
CLASSES/SUBSECTIONS
All of the textile classes have the following
sections:
• Seniors’ (over 65)
• Ladies’
• Men’s
• Juniors’ (13/10, 9/6, 5/0)
• Antique Pieces
Your exhibit will be classified at the time of
entry and by class and section.
AWARDS
1st, 2nd and 3rd ribbon awards
will be issued for judged exhibits in each class and sub-
section.
In addition, the following
“Best” awards will be issued:
• Best of Antique Pieces
• Best of Senior
• Best of Junior
• Best of Quilting
• Best of Crochet or Knit
• Best Use of Theme
• Best of Holiday
• Best of Show - Textiles
CLASS 1 — THEME OF FAIR
May be any Textiles exhibit item (quilt,
crochet, artistic handwork, etc) that displays the current
them of the fair. This will be deter-mined at the time of
entry.
