2 WOE HERITAGE FAIR 2015
Welcome to the 83rd annual WOE Heritage Fair and Gene Campbell
Memorial Lumberjack Show !
W.O.E.’s MISSION
The mission of the Western Oregon Exposition Heritage Fair is to carry on the American tradition of old-fashioned fun,
entertainment and education in a safe, family environment. Our objective each year is to increase interest and broaden
the knowledge base of agricultural practices, homemaking skills, industry growth and projects of youth and adults
through exhibits, displays, demonstrations and contests.
Welcome!
Thank you!
On behalf of the board and myself, I would like to thank the
community for coming out last year and supporting the WOE.
We have put a lot of effort in to revitalizing the now 83-year old
fair. It has paid off. We are still providing the community with
a wonderful family event and we are sticking to our mission
statement! We sincerely would like to thank all of our spon-
sors and contributors and a dedicated group of all-volunteer
personnel. The small entrance fee at the front gate helps us pay
our bills and helps maintain the fairgrounds for future events.
Last year we collected about 650 pounds of food for community
sharing, so, let’s try to beat that record by everyone bringing
a can of food to the fair. You will receive $1 off of the adult
entrance fee of $3. Watch for $1 off coupons to reduce fair
admission even more! And kids 12 and under are still free!
This year, as you will see, we are bringing a great line-up of
music, entertainment and great food for all to enjoy. Be sure to
check out the BLUE SKYS BIG BAND on Saturday evening
(complete with a new dance fl oor), and COWBOY CADI-
LAC for the closing act. Don’t for get about the terrifi c Gene
Campbell Memorial Lumberjack Show starting Friday. Be
sure to get your exhibits ready. Bring and enter your collec-
tions, textiles, canned foods, backed goodies, art projects and
many more. Please see our Exhibit Information included in
this special edition of the Sentinel. As they say we truly have
“something for everyone.” Please invite your family and friends
to come out and enjoy the fun!
See you at the fair!

Opening Ceremonies- Friday, Aug. 14, 10 a.m.
Cottage Grove’s VFW Carl Kebelbeck POST #3473 will offi -
ciate the Opening Ceremony of Flag Raising and lead the Star-
Spangled Banner at 10 a.m. Friday, August 14 for the opening
of the gates to the 2015 Western Oregon Exposition Heritage
Fair. Cottage Grove became home to the Veteran’s of Foreign
Wars post in 1948. They serve all veterans. They are known
for hosting great dinners and pancake breakfasts at the post to
help raise money for their many charitable works. You might
see their trailer handing out free coffee to travelers at our I-5
rest stops. The ladies prepare boxes to send to service men and
women overseas every Christmas. Members of the post will be
greeting you at the front gate again this year.
