Who-Raw
for Rowan!
“A TV comedian joked,
‘Who would want a cat? They
eat breakfast and spend the rest
of the day throwing up,’” said
Julia. “But it is no joke! As a
Classical Homeopath and Clini-
cal Pet Nutritionist I know that
an animal or human who eats
and then feels ill is eating unfi t
food. I have witnessed the ben-
efi ts of ‘real food’ for my pets.
As a teenager, when I adopted
a three month-old puppy, Kody,
he was a lethargic, furry lump
with a green-snot nose.
One day, I walked passed a
homeopathic veterinary clinic
with the sign, ‘Feed Your Dogs
Raw Food’. It was a divine mo-
ment! I stumbled onto the an-
swer to my puppy’s health and
a career.
As soon as I switched Kody
from bagged/canned puppy food
to raw, he transformed from a
little blah-blob to an energetic
healthy puppy. It was unbeliev-
able how fast it happened! My
cat was having urinary tract
crystals, until I too switched him
to a raw diet. Since the switch,
none of my pets have suffered
from alopecia (fur loss), arthri-
tis, digestive problems or dia-
betes. I was hooked and studied
everything I could to help ani-
mals live longer and healthier
lives. I now offer free diet ad-
vice through www.3pnaturals.

I’ve seen huge improvements
in the health of pets that are
switched to raw. Their blood
work and health progression,
documented by their veterinar-
ians, is astounding. Chronic
vomiting in cats is stopped once
they’re on a raw diet. All my
diabetic cat patients reversed
their illness and most of the
dogs have gone off or reduced
their insulin.
Just like human food, manu-
factured pet food has a lot of
hidden sugar. The defi nition
of animal byproducts seen on
pet food labels is: euthanized
animals, fur, animals who died
Rowan also accompanies me
when I teach pet health through
their food. She is a living ex-
ample of the food’s success and
our blog’s raw-k star!
I love how Rowan’s beauti-
ful-adoring eyes look into mine.
She watches and studies what-
ever I am doing and saying.
Because Rowan hails from one
of the smartest breeds, she is
quick to learn. Since the age of
four months, she’s being train-
ing to scent-track for profes-
sional competitions. Once a
dog learns to use their nose, you
can modify their training to any-
thing; missing persons, drugs,
bed bugs, mold, etc. Next she
begins a puppy tracking course.
She just turned six months old
and is already 50 pounds and
will weigh 80 when full grown.

Sarah Griffi ths, DCH, CPN and her 50 pound, six-month-
old puppy, Rowan, are teachers of pet nutrition. Row-
an’s favorite part is the eating demonstration!
from unnatural causes/diseased.
When I see chicken byproducts,
I know that it means a combina-
tion of disturbing mystery ingre-
dients. These cleverly disguised
ingredients along with low
quality processed grains, pre-
servatives, coloring or taste-en-
hancing chemicals explain why
so many animals have allergies
- when you have no control of
what comes out of the bag, no
matter how much you paid for
it, you continue paying at a vet’s
clinic to ‘fi x’ the problem
I can look at a dog/cat and
instantly tell which ones are
fed packaged or raw food. Raw
food is becoming popular and
not considered a fad anymore.
Pet stores are now offering fro-
zen raw foods because custom-
ers are demanding it. If you
don’t have access to raw food,
then purchase the meat at a
butcher shop and vegetables at
the grocery store. Make a batch
and freeze it for convenience.
To avoid nutritional defi cien-
cies, consult with a professional
about balancing it correctly.
My six-month-old pup, Row-
an, is a rare harlequin colored
Beauceron who stands out in
a crowd! The Beauceron is a
hearty, intelligent, 500 year old
breed from France used to herd
sheep, but today is used for po-
lice, protection work, and scent
tracking. They are a hearty
breed that generally live for 16
years with few genetic prob-
lems. The Doberman originate
from the Beauceron. The breed
is registered with the American
Kennel Club, but to date the Ca-
nadian Kennel Club has failed
to do so.
Beaucerons are diverse be-
cause of their intelligence, ath-
letic skills and even tempera-
ment. These dogs are not for
fi rst-time dog owners! They
need a job to do and their high
energy requires a lot of exercise.
I work from home, so my life-
style affords me time to have a
super active and intelligent dog.
Raw fed dogs have many
benefi ts; better digestion, less
arthritis and they don't smell
doggy!
