“I got shot there,” Llamos
said. “We wanted a better life
for our family, and this is just
great. It’s a lot less gangster.”
With competition already
established in Cottage Grove,
Llamos said he’s relying on his
years of expertise and what he
believes is a superior product to
stand out among the crowd.
“This is the kind of stuff that
Oregon hasn’t seen yet,” he said.
“California is 13 years ahead of
you, so we’ve had a head start.”
Llamos adds that the co-op
will take a loss if it means get-
ting medicine to someone that
needs it.
“We’re the cheapest in town
by far,” he said. “We will give
it away if people really need it.
We’re not making a big profi t.
People here are really sick. In
California, it seemed like only
about 25 percent of patients
were really sick, but here it
seems closer to 95 percent.”
The products Llamos refer-
ences includes marijuana fl ow-
ers, plant starts, edibles and
drinks, and he says that about
100 patients have already visited
his store in the past two weeks.
“People are really happy with
what we have,” he said. In the fu-
ture, Llamos said his dispensary
will devote space to recreational
marijuana if state laws allow. In
the meantime, the Holistic Co-
op is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.
to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to
4:20 p.m. Sunday. The store can
be reached by phone at 541-

faith at all times, and resist the
enemy immediately when he
comes against you. God has
a plan for your life, and walk-
ing in the authority you have in
Christ is an important part of ex-
periencing His will for you.
The greatest weapon you
have
The Word of God is an of-
fensive weapon in our warfare
against the enemy. It contains
life and has the power to renew
our mind, heal our brokenness
and change our lives! The Word
contains God’s wisdom and
the direction we need for every
problem we face. Everything
we need is found in the Word;
it’s God’s love letter to us, our
instruction book for life and re-
veals all of God’s promises to us
as His children.
The power and authority in
God’s Word equips you to go
after the devil—he hates the
Word and must bow down to it.
But we must approach the Word
with the attitude, “With God’s
help, I’m going to do what it
says.” That’s the key to operat-
ing in the authority we have in
Christ.
I want to encourage you to
make it a priority to spend time
with God and study the Word.
Go for quality, not quantity;
meditate on Scripture so you
really get it deep down in your
heart. Make a predetermined
decision to apply what you learn
to your life. Pray and ask the
Holy Spirit to help you, and He
will show you how to obey the
Word in your daily life.
Remember that in Christ,
you have everything you need
to enjoy your life and have the
abundant life He died for you
to have. God has equipped you
to stand up to whatever comes
against you. Through the power
and authority you have in Christ,
you can remain stable, full of
peace and joy, and advance
God’s kingdom in the Earth at
all times. That’s God’s plan for
you!
Fornoff said there have been goats
at the quarry for over 20 years, and
she has fond recollections of the
“original Billy” who spent a decade
atop the hill before passing away of
old age. The fi rst “Billy” showed
up on his own, Fornoff said, and
he became “partners in crime” with
the next goat, named “Betty,” that
showed up there.
“They would take lunches out
of people’s boxes,” Fornoff said.
“They stole wrenches, grease guns
and whatever else — we really miss
those two.”
Billy passed on in 2007, and two
goats were brought to the quarry to
keep Betty company. In 2013 it was
reported that two more goats had
perished, though two more were
brought in soon after. Fornoff said
the black male and female who now
call the quarry home welcomed two
kids into the fold just before Christ-
mas of 2014. The white nanny goat

The devil hates anyone who
is trying to do any good in the
world, and his infl uence can be
seen in the evil things people
do. We live in a war zone: there
are wars in the Earth and we
also encounter spiritual warfare
in our mind and emotions. For
example, when I’m tempted to
be selfi sh and complain, it’s not
God working in my life. James
1:13, 17 says, “…God cannot
be tempted by evil, nor does He
Himself tempt anyone. Every
good gift and every perfect gift
is from above, and comes down
from the Father of lights…”
(NKJV).
We need to learn how to be
proactive and resist the devil im-
mediately. First Peter 5:9 says to
“withstand him; be fi rm in faith
[against his onset—rooted, es-
tablished, strong, immovable,
and determined], knowing that
the same (identical) sufferings
are appointed to your brother-
hood (the whole body of Chris-
tians) throughout the world”
(AMP). Notice this verse says
to resist him at his onset.
Don’t wait to see how bad
things will get or how much you
can get away with before you
get in trouble. Be fi rm in your
gave birth that same week, she said,
but those kids didn’t survive.
Quarry workers have named the
black female goat “One-Horn” and
her kids “Three-quarter” and “Doz-
er.”
“We were trying to be more origi-
nal,” she said. “Everybody was just
naming them ‘Billy’ or ‘Nanny.’”
Fornoff said the goats come and
go as they please, often coming
down toward Sears Road to graze
or accepting handouts (they appar-
ently love apples).
“They live really well,” she said.
“You can tell they’re not missing
any meals.”
Fornoff added that signs placed
near the road to warn of the goats’
presence have disappeared.
“People do 70 miles per hour on
that road, and it’s scary,” she said.
“But we can’t put up fences to keep
the goats in because they technical-
ly don’t belong to anybody.”
