The Lorane Celebration for
2015 meets again this month
on April 16 at 7 p.m. at Lorane
Grange. Many important deci-
sions were made last month,
and they hope to plan more at
this meeting.

ing up a Ukulele beginner’s

is this Sunday, April 12 at
3 p.m. Performers may still
come down with their talent
and should just arrive about 15

a program that is always amaz-

All eighth-grade

are asked to attend a meeting
on Tuesday, April 15 to dis-
cuss eighth-grade recognition
and the dance that follows at the

The Oregon State Police is
now hiring Recruit Troopers.
Police say that, for those
who have thought about being
a trooper, now is the time to
apply. The agency is preparing
to hire recruit troopers in 2015
using the E-Recruit electronic
application system. Lateral and
Entry level recruit trooper ap-
plications will be accepted until
May 17 at 11:59 p.m.
Persons interested in apply-
ing are asked to start the process
now by going to the Oregon
State Police recruiting website
at www.osptrooper.com.
Applicants are urged to pre-
pare beforehand for Entry Level
Testing. Candidates can create
an account now by building a
profi le following the instruc-

Meet my farmer
On Sunday, April 19 from
11:30 to 2:30 a Farmers’ Market
will be held at First Presbyte-
rian Church on Adams and 3rd
Streets. Sponsored by the Earth
and Social Justice Commission
of the church and cgFEAST,
there will be free samples, sales
and take-aways of produce,
plant starts, poultry, meat and
other vendors’ items. A lunch
of African stew from InStove
and homemade tortillas will be
offered. Presentations include
information on the CG High
School community garden, lo-
cal CSAs, bees and beekeeping,
and the local food movement.

Farmers
In the evening of Sunday,
April 19 a dinner from 5:30 to
7:00 will be held at the Cottage
Grove Public Market on 10th
and Washington Streets. Spon-
sored by cgFEAST, the dinner
will include wood fi red pizza,
handmade tortillas and tacos,
salad and African vegetable
stew. The fi rst serving is dona-
tion based; additional items are
priced from $2.50 to $6. There
will be juice, soda, local beer
and wine plus pie or cake for
dessert. Dancing to live local
