Robert E. Ritcher
1932-2015
Robert “Bob” E. Ritcher, Sr.,
82, of Cottage Grove passed
away March 18, 2015 of natural
causes.
He was born May 9, 1932 in
Clarksburg,
Mass. to El-
roy and Ada
(Braman)
Ritcher.
A f t e r
graduating
from high
school, he
served in the U.S. Army, 82nd
Airborne. Bob worked as a
transformer repairman and con-
sultant for General Electric.
He enjoyed playing chess,
fi shing, nature walks, watching
boxing and basketball and gar-
dening.
Bob married Amber L. Davis
on Oct. 14, 1952.
He is survived by a daugh-
ter Karen Ritcher of Spring-
fi eld, Ore., fi ve sons, James
and Jay Ritcher, both of Cot-
tage Grove, Mark Ritcher of
Waukesha, Wisc., John Ritcher
of North Adams, Mass., and
Karl Ritcher of Riverside, Ca-
lif., 11 siblings, 18 grandchil-
dren and numerous great-grand-
children.
Bob was preceded in death
by his wife, Amber Ritcher, on
April 20, 2001 and son Robert
Ritcher Jr. on Oct. 20, 2014.

Wayne Chaney
1933-2015
Wayne Chaney, 82, of Dorena,
Ore. passed away March 11,
2015 of health related causes.
He was born Feb. 17, 1933 in
Gerty, Okla. to Oscar and Cory
(Geyer) Chaney.
On June 22, 1968 in Anchor-
age, Aka., he and Jackie were
married.
Wayne attended college and
worked as a mechanic, logger
and mill worker. He had also
served in the U.S. Army.
Wayne is described as an
amazing and loving husband,
father, grandfather and father-
in-law. He was a hard working
family man whose family came
fi rst and he cherished them.
He loved the Lord and will be
missed.
Survivors include his wife,

Chaney, two
sons, Billy
Chaney
and Donald
Chaney, all
of Dorena,
six grand-
children,
seven great-
grandchil-
dren and two great-great grand-
children.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, siblings and a
daughter.
A graveside service will be
held at 11 a.m. on March 27 in
Madras, Oregon. Arrangements
under the care of Bel-Air Colo-
nial Funeral Home, Madras.
Wendell Keith
Langham
1945-2015
Wendell Keith
69, of Cot-
tage Grove,
Ore. passed
away
on
March 20,
2015
from can-
cer.
He was
born to El-
Langham,
Harry Eddie Hermansen
1929-2015
zie and Martelie (Echols) Lang-
ham on Nov. 8, 1945.
His school years were spent
in Visalia, Calif. He graduated
from Redwood High School,
and moved to Cottage Grove
in 1963.
He met Connie Gilman, a
friend of his sister, and a ro-
mance developed. They were
married in 1965.
Wendell worked in the woods
industry most of his life. He
was a supervisor for Bohemia
Lumber Company from 1963
until its closure in 1990. He also
worked for Con-Tech Industries
and Willamette Industries, re-
tiring from Weyerhaeuser in
2007.
His interests included several
sports. He played varsity bas-
ketball and baseball in school.
He was a loyal Oregon Duck
fan, enjoyed Men’s Golf League,
and was a bow hunter. He was
the Boys Basketball coach at
South Lane Christian School for
many years. He was a family
man, and especially loved his
grandchildren. Wendell had a
strongfaith in Christ, and put his
hope in God.
Survivors include his wife,
Connie of Cottage Grove; son,
Vince Langham of Vancouver,
Wash.; two daughters, Shelley
(Mark) Myers of Silverton, Ore.
and Sonia (Michael) Pietras of
Gardnerville, Nev.; brother, Mo
(Sally) Langham of Cottage
Grove; three sisters, Reba (Bob)
Kokotan of Springfi eld, Ore.,
Melba (Don) Kokko of Cottage
Grove, and Clara Black of Cot-
tage Grove; and 11 grandchil-
dren.
A memorial service will be
held at Living Faith Assembly
on Sunday, March 29, at 3 p.m.,
with a reception to follow.

celebrate 50
years together

od and Sharon Er-
iksen, life-long resi-
dents of Cottage Grove,
recently celebrated their
50th anniversary with a
family celebration hosted
by the couple’s children and
grandchildren on March 21,
2015.
The couple was married
March 19, 1965 at the First Bap-
tist Church in Cottage Grove.
They have a daughter, Angela
Ironside and her husband Allan
and their children, Luke and
Craig (wife Kelsey), all of Al-
berta, Canada. The couple’s son
is Jason Eriksen, and his wife
Laura and their son, Kaden, all
of Cottage Grove.
Rod worked for 42 years as a
crane operator, in mill construc-
tion and doing maintenance for
Bohemia Inc., Willamette In-
dustries and retiring from Wey-
erhaeuser.
Sharon has served as a Re-
leased Time Bible teacher for
37 years in the Cottage Grove
area. Sharon and Rod continue
to teach and serve the children
of Cottage Grove.

Harry Eddie Hermansen,
85, of Dorena passed away
March 22, 2015. He was born
June 29, 1929 in Elmwood
Park, Ill. to Hans Gabriel
and Anna Ericka (Dahl)
Hermansen. Harry graduated
from Leydon Community High
School in Franklin Park, Ill. in
1948. He served in the U.S.
Army as Military Police from
Feb. 9, 1951 to Feb. 8, 1953.
On May 16, 1953 in Plainfi eld, N.J, he and Joan Marie Persons
were married. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Hermansen worked as a home builder in the Cottage Grove
area. He was a Scandinavian dancer in his youth, and danced for
the Queen of England. He enjoyed raising and showing nationally
known Nubian dairy goats under the Hidden Meadows herd name,
prospecting for gold, oil painting and Norwegian dancing. He was
an active member of the Emerald Dairy Goat Association and of the
Roseburg Gold Prospecting Association.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Karen and
Michael Fergason of Junction City, Ore., a sister, Alice Ann
Hermansen of Eugene and two grandchildren, Melanie Fergason
and Max Fergason.
Service will be held Thursday March 26, 2015 in the chapel at
Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.
