Masog 1956-2015 Kimberly Rae (Arthur) Masog, 58, of Lebanon, Or- egon died Wed., Feb. 25, 2015, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. Kim was born Oct. 19, 1956 in Cottage Grove, Ore- gon, was raised there and gradu- ated from Cottage Grove High School. She went on to graduate from Western Oregon University with a degree in education. She later received her master’s de- gree in Education and a degree in administration. Kim’s career in education began in Hermiston, Oregon in 1978. She later moved to Leba- non and began teaching at Ham- ilton Creek School, where she taught for several years. Kim went on to work at the Lebanon District Offi ce as Vice Principal of the Lebanon High School and Seven Oak Middle School, from where she retired in 2012. Kim enjoyed gardening, quilt- ing, traveling, scrapbooking, puzzles, her dogs, and spend- ing time with her family and friends. Kim married Louis Masog on July 28, 1990 in Cottage Grove, Oregon; he survives. Other sur- vivors include daughters Taylor Masog of Corvallis, Madisen Masog of Brooklyn, N.Y., step children Lt. Commander Ben Masog of New Orleans, Dr. Natalie Paluch of Moses Lake, Wash., Vince Masog and Alex Masog both of Portland, parents Raymond and Yvonna Arthur of Cottage Grove, brother William Arthur of Cottage Grove, sister Renee Goodson of Corvallis and seven step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marlece Arthur. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 7, at the River Center in Lebanon with a reception to follow the service. He was born Nov. 27, 1944 in Culber- son Rural 1 N.C., Geor- gia to Hosea and Edna (Allen) Woody. Survivors include three broth- ers, Wayne Woody of Texas, Harold Woody of Oregon and Merle Woody of Washington, and nine sisters, Shirley Soles- bee, Janice Solesbee, Linda Simons, Betty Leach, Mozelle Bura, Ella Walker, and Rachel Smith, all of Oregon, and Judy Soto and Alma Bidegain of Ari- zona. Caroline (Coop) Shultz 1926-2015 Caroline Coop Shultz of Cre- swell, Oregon, a descendent of one of Oregon's pioneer fami- lies from 1853, died Feb. 19, 2015. She was 88. She was born Sept. 13, 1926 In Tillamook, Ore. She grew up In Cottage Grove and worked in her father's foundry making cores while attending Cottage Grove High School. She went off to Graceland Col- lege In Lamoni, Iowa. After a year of college she went back to work at the foundry. There she met Lowell Shultz and they married In Salem, Ore. on Aug. 31, 1947. They settled In Cot- tage Grove, where Lowell was working at a blacksmith shop. They purchased their fi rst house In Springfi eld on Laura Street, where they raised four children: Marilyn, Dan, Lloyd and Chris to adulthood. They purchased property between Pleasant Hill and Creswell, where they farmed, built a home and then retired. Caroline worked at the can- nery In Eugene for 27 years and was a member of the Teamsters. Caroline was very active In the VPN Auxiliary In Creswell and enjoyed attending the Commu- nity of Christ Church In Cottage Grove. Sister Nora Treadwell, hus- band Lowell Shultz, children Sarah and Dan Shultz and Mari- lyn Simonsen preceded her in death. Caroline Is survived by her brothers Vern, Duane and Dale Coop, son Lloyd, daugh- ter Chris Lasley, grandchildren Doug and Stan Simonsen, Me- lissa Fery, Carmie Melie, Lehl and Joe Shultz, Taylor Eden Treadwell, Erica Lasley, Katie Amberg, and 12 great-grand- children along with generations of nieces and nephews. Services were held at Andrea- son's Funeral home 320 N. 6th, Springfi eld, Ore. Louis C. Keenom 1926-2015 Lewis C. Keenom, 89, of Cottage Grove passed away Feb. 25, 2015 from age related causes. He was born Jan. 20, 1926 in Corpus Christi, Texas to William and Ollie (Woody) Keenom. On April 6, 1945 in Berkley, Calif., he and Rosemary McMahon were married. Louis worked as a Head Roller for Gilmore Steel. He loved working in the garden, fi shing, playing soft ball and spending time with family. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary, a son, David (Nora) Keenom of Gresham, Oregon, a daughter, Patricia (Kelly) Benston of Cottage Grove, and a grandson, Christopher Benston of Eugene. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Marie Keenom. Visitation was held March 2 from 12-1 p.m. at Lane Memorial Funeral Home, 5300 W. 11th Ave., in Eugene. Love, Janice, Linda, Denny, Christine & Kyle Clarence “Clarry” P. Smallwood 1931-2015 Clarence “Clarry” P. Smallwood, 83, of Cottage Grove, Oregon, passed away February 6, 2015. He was born April 23, 1931 in New York, NY, to Clarence and Gertrude (Jack) Smallwood. Clarry was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, received his BA in Sociology from UCLA, and worked as a deputy probation offi cer and supervisor for Los Angeles County for 27 years. He had a private pilot’s license, and was a member of AOPA. In LA Clarry sang, danced and acted in theater, and was a wonderful folk dancer. Jazz, classical music, attending concerts, going to theater in Ashland, and visiting Art and Natural History museums were his favorite pastimes. He was a talented photographer, scuba diver, and traveled to many foreign countries. Clarry also studied several foreign languages. Clarry was a member of the Riverside Community Church of God in Cottage Grove. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Judith Ann (Freeman). Survivors also include his stepson, Brad Freeman, Old Greenwich, CT; brother, David (Grace), New York City; brother, Harold (Joanne), Roseville, CA; and two grandchildren, Austin Freeman and Mikayla Myers. He was preceded in death by daughter, Laure Smallwood in 1980, and stepdaughter, Robin Freeman in 2015. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 14 at Riverside Community Church of God, with reception to follow. His family wishes to thank his caregivers at Quail Park Memory Care in Eugene for their dedication.
