We haven’t the statistics aa to the
length and breadth o f the city. It has
an area o f 327 square miles. There are
2500 miles of paved streets, giving some
idea o f its distances.
Greater New York is governed by one
mayor. The boroughs o f Manhattan,
Bronx, Brooklyn, Queen» and Richmond
each have presidents, who are members
o f the eity council o f greater New
York.
We haven’t at hand the figures as to
the present population o f New York.
It was recently announced that it is now
the largest city in the world, which
would necessitate a population o f some
8,000,000. This probably includes West
chester and New Jeraey suburbs.
