Davis, principal of our school, received the sad news of the death of his stepfather and serious illness o f his mother at their home in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and handed in his resignation was accept ed, taking effect the last o f the week, and started on Saturday for his old home. This is th be deeply regretted as our school was progressing splendidly under his management. However, his place will be filled by Prof. F. C. Jory, late of the Willam ette University, who comes highly recommended as an educator, and we have every confidence that the present interest will not be lost. «-«•»« R. H.
