Local Option Convention.
At a citizens’ conference beld in
Coquille on Dec. 16, amass conven­
tion of citizens of the county was
called to meet at the county court
house Tuesday, January 3rd, at 10
o'clock a. in., for the purpose of
planning measure and means to
have the temporary injunction issued
by Judge Hamilton dissolved. All
patriotic citizens who believe in
majority rule are urged to attend
this convention. This is a cause of
grave importance.
Citizens come
aud help defend your rights and
liberties which are in danger of be­
ing infringed by the saloon element
in the county.
Your civil rights,
as well as the protection of your
home; and your property interests
are inyolved.
The saloons cause
large expense to the county. You
pay the taxes. Let us have a rous­
ing convention. This is not a party
question; all parties are represented.
Send word to the secretary if you
intend to be on hand, and he will
try to secure free entertainment
for all who attend from outside the
city. By order of the citizens con­
ference of Coquille, Oregon.

Santa Claus will arrive at the
Christian church early Saturday
evening in order to enjoy the chil­
dren’s exercises, after he will undo
liis pack and distribute presents to
the children.
On Sunday morning at 11 o ’clock
services will be held appropriate to
the occasion. T o any and all these
services you will be made welcome.
