the grove near the Christian
church last Sunday morning at
11:00 o’clock o\er the body of R.
V. DeWitt, who passed to the
Great Beyond Thursday of last
week. The sermon was preached
by E. A. LaDow, an old friend of
deceased and the family. It was
probably the largest funeral gath
ering ever assembled in Falls City.
Friends from far and near came
to pay a last sad tribute to one
they loved, and who had always
endeavored to do as he would be
done by.
The Woodmen of the World and
Maccabees held their ceremonial
rites at the grave.
NEW PASSENGER SCHEDULE
A new train schedule will go in
to effect Sunday morning making
the morning train a little earlier.
The train from Salem arriving
here at 850 will be discontinued,
and instead, a train will leave
Dallas at 7:03 a. m. arrive here at
755 and leave at 7:40. It will
connect at Gerlinger for Portland,
and at Salem with the southbound.
It will enable passengers to go to
Portland, spend a few hours and
quarters for Candy and Cigar« return the same day.
