You will get a large bottle of this old time recipe Improved by the aildlt'/n of other Ingredients for about 50 cents. Everybody uses this prepsratlon now, because no one can possibly tell that you darkened your hair, aa It does It so naturally and evenly. You dampen a sponge or soft brush with It and draw this through your hair, taking one small strand at a tlms; by morning the gray hair dis appears, and after another application or two, your hair becomes beautifully dark, thick and glossy and you look years younger. Scouring forU.S.Marine Corps recruits. He Hpent This Year for Additions, Equipment and Bet terment on All Lines. Join N ow ! Washington, D. C. — Railroads under government operation this year will ■pend nearly 1 1 ,000,000,000 for addi tions, betterments and equipment, or approximately three times as much os in any one o f the lost three years. Total capital expenditures approved by the railroad administration as an nounced Wednesday are 1937,961,318. j O f this big oum $440,071,000 w ill be ! ■pent for additions and betterments, 1 such as stations arut'other property improvements; $479,686,000 for equip ment — cars and locomotives already ordered through the railroad adminis tration; and $18,203,000 for track ex tensions. The figures disclose Director General M cAdoo’s determination to let the railroads make many improvements which they had neglected during the last three years, and postponing all possible projects requiring big expen ditures. It also is shown that the rail road administration is not encouraging many extensions o f lines during the war emergency, and in some cases projects already under way have been discontinued. The railroad administration elim inated $349,24 7,000, or nearly one- fourth o f the proposals. In paring down the budget to this extent the ad ministration made it plain that most o f its decisions are tentative. In general, the eastern trunk lines were given generous sums fo r. im provements and «squipment, to enable them better to handle the great flood o f traffic to the Atlantic seaboard for movement to Europe. Part o f the capital necessary w ill be supplied by the govenment, from the $500,000,000 revolving fund o f the railroad adminis tration, although advances w ill be re paid eventually by the individual ra il roads. Wherever possible, railroads w ill finance their own enterprises, but the railroad administration may buy the bonds or other securities issued. Examination o f the roadB* budgets had been directed by Robert S. Lovett, chief o f the railroad administration's division o f capital expenditures, and John Skelton Williams, director o f finance and purchases.
