Whereas, a wise custom has
been established which calls fo r a
general clean-up day each year in
this city; and
Whereas, the time has arrived
when w e should look to the beau­
tify in g o f our city by ridding our
streets and private inclosures o f
the trash and rubbish that gathers
there in the course o f a y ea r’s
time; and
Whereas, the city council o f
Falls City has made provisions for
the hauling aw ay o f all rubbish
collected on the day hereinafter
provided for at the expense o f the
city;
N ow , therefore,

ber w ere present and all had a
good time. Ice cream, cake and
peaches with punch was served.

Scalloped Egg with Cbeeae
6 hard cooked eggs.
2 c white sauce.
2 c buttered soft bread crumbs.

Grate the cheese, or cut it into
pieces, and add it to the white
sauce. Cut the e g g in slices. Oil
a baking dish, and place the ma­
terials in the dish in layers, having
the loaves and top layers o f bread
crumbs. Bake in a moderate oven
until the mixture is heated through
and the crumbs are browned.
Serve hot in place in place o f
meat.
