In a statement given recently Booker T. Washington, the head o f the Institute, shows that thirty-four men were put to deuth by mob violence since Jan. 1, IU1S, the number being thirteen more than the figures for the same period last year. Twenty-four o f the men lynched were negroes and ten were whites. Eight, or one-fourth of the total num­ ber, occurred In Georgia.
