Titus, Bradley and Hopkins being ab sent. The usual order o f business was disposed o f and reports o f com mittees called for. The finance committee had failed to audit the books o f former auditor Clement and as the matter had dragged along for some months without any effort to make the audit a motion was sustained that Mr. Clements bondsmen be released. The water question was discuss ed at some length and it was generally agreed that it would be advisable for the safety o f the town and the convenience o f the water users that a pipe line be laid up Teel creek in order to furnish an adequate supply o f water for irrigation and in case o f fire. There are several hun dred feet o f pipe le ft from the Glaze creek line as it appears that there was some overestimate when the pipe was ordered for that purpose. It is useless for any other purpose as it is not o f sufficient strength to stand the pressure lower down the line. The water superintendent was again urged to turn the water off from those who had failed to pay their rent. There was more talk about the collection o f overdue street im provement assessment, which as usual resulted in more talk. The city attorney re-asserted that he was almost ready to begin. This is a matter that is being watched with much interest and many are anxious for the “ bear-fight” to begin. It appears that the records, in days past were kept in a very peculiar manner, i f in fact they were kept at all and the city attorney finds it difficult to obtain necessary foundation on which to stand. The auditor's and the treasur er’ s reports were read and ap proved and many other matters o f minor importance transacted. The session was a long one and it was near midnight ere they ad journed. The Thursday Afternoon Club met with Mrs. O. L. Caney last Thursday. Those pregent were: Mrs. Fred Saxby, Mrs. F. Wells, Mrs. Warren Frink, Mrs. D.
