W. II. Reanile, a pioneer flour, mitl
mam of the Pacific Coa3t, died at
his home in McMlnnvllle, December
11. He wa born May 24, 1832, in I
broath, Scotland, emigrating to the
Umilted States In, 1838 and arriving at
San Francisco via the Isthmus, in
1859 he built 'the Caledonia flouring
m,lll3 In that city, engaging to busl-
icss there until his mills were foumet
In 18C2. He then -brought ma lomy
.0 Oregon; and was for some years a
:nlller at Salom, and subsequently en
iaged in that occupation In various
points in the .Willamette Valley.
Mr. Renole was married in 1856, be

her young school mates and her

the city. Her particularly sweet,

cheerful patience during 'her long
illness. She was taken ilM with In
fantile .paralysis the last day of
July but had recovered sufficiently

Emily was born in La Grande Ap
