Mr. Smith was- a good citizen and
highly respeoted by all who knew
him; honest and upright in all his

He was a member, of the M. E.
church for many years- and a mem
ber of the Masonic order In good
standing. The bereaved family have
the sympathy of the .whole commun

The county fair board at a meet
in held Thursday night, started the
preliminary s'.epa for incorpora
tion of the permanent organization.
While all the stock has i.ot , been
subscribed, the board has; faith1 tK3t
the people of the county will see
that it Is- raised and the fair put
on ' a good footing.

state has not yet come, but is ex
pected, the first of next week. The
