past week, says the Observer, about
the land opening In Wallowa county.
The letters come by hundreds dally,
oftentimes, and every dayi brings
scores. The Inquiries are principally
from the Pacific coast states, but
many are from the east anldi middle
west. The land office official are
making strenuous efforts to answer
all inquiries promptly.

W. J. Boss, the popular leading

camp last week , stepped in a hole
and strained himself so severely as

days. He was unable to appear In
the compnny's presentation of "The
Private Secretary" on Saturday ev
ening, but will be in good shape
when "Old Farmer Joskins'" is put

That the Lowe Stock company is
making good in thedr engagement at
the opera house was again demon
strated on Saturday evening last,
when, the largest house of the season
greeted their presentation of the
very laughable farce comedy, "The
Private Secretary." And the large
audience apparantly thoroughly en
joyed the fun. Next Saturday even
