and recuperating. Mrs. Bernard
Snow, Mrs. Harvey's mother, who
has been here several days, return
ed to La Grande with them.
The six months old infant of
James Winter, who . suffered for
weeks from many spasms, has re

REMAINS OF MRS, LUTHER
JOHNSON LAID TO REST
Mrs. Luthr Johnson, . aged 72
years, died at her recent home on
the former Hamilton place, at 3
o'clock Sunday afternoon, and Tues
day morning the remains were tak
en to Wallowa for Interment be
side those of her husband who had
preceded her in death. Mr. and
Mrs. Johnson were old settlers In
the valley, and were .widely known
and dearly loved by all who knew
them. None but the immediate rel
atives accompanied the remains to
Wallowa, Tuesday morning, where
the funeral was held in the after
noon of that day. Those were: Mr.
and Mrs. N. D. Varner and family.
Mr. Tom Johnson, a son of the de
ceased, and family, and Mr. Henry
Horton, a brother of Mrs. Luther
Johnson.
