ON THE WARPATH. .
The , residents of Lostlne are on
the. warpath. According to the In
formation at hand, some one caused
to be printed In the "Wallowa Sun"
an article stating that Lostlne would
move, at some time or omer, preiei
aMy pr'lly tUlc:k. down to the O.
R. & N. ' latum thfre... When the
people of Lostlne lead, the notice,
they wtire o,irp.ed. They statjd,
that tills moving bs.ntsa must b.-
the removal of the astral body of
Lcstlne -or words to that effect
because no physical movement had
taken place nor had been even
contemplated, . And the way the res
idents there stated it, made the
statement very emphatic.
. Enterprise knows' that Lostlne Is
"on the map" to borrow that ex
pression from the Lostlne citizens.
And Enterprise lis justly proud of
that fact, proud of everything pro
gressive lni Lostlne, and. proud of
the town as a whole. The relations
between Enterprise and Lostlne, as
far as the acting editor knows, have
been always mutually friendly and
mutually enthusiastic; and Enter
prise dselres .these relations, con
tinued. In the development of Wal
lowa county no stogie city can be
Injured without Injuring the whole
countv: no strife can be ereaited
without causing a attr. however
slight, through the entire county;
and dissension and' strife are not
stable and enduring foundations' up
on which to raise any. common
wealth. There Is no need for any sugges
tion from Enterprise to the Lostlne
people, la this temporary matter.
Enterprise knows that Lostlne Resi
dents have Initiative enough, ability
and common sense enough, and pa
triotism enough, to run their own1
affairs, and run them right. Jlore-
over. Enterprise knows from history
hat Lostlne la as much concerned
with the . development of waiiowa
county as any body of people here.
