Superstitions About Sneezing.
Zenophcin.. Prometheus, Tbenilsroeles
and Cicero regarded n sneeze as a fa
vorable omen. Among the Hindoos
and Persians, however, sneezing and
yawning were ascribed to demoniacal
possession. The-' Hindoo snaps his
thumb and ringer and repeats . the
name of one of his gods. The Mos
lems believe that the devil may leap
into a gaping mouth, and beuce when
be yawns be draws the back of bis
band over bis mouth and mutters this
prayer: "I seek refuge with Allah
from Satan, the arrnrsed."
