County Commissioner W. G. Locke
returned the firs of this week from
a couple of months spent in Centra.

their Lost Prairie home by stage
from Wallowa.
Mrs. E. Mallery and daughter Pearl
of Alberta, Canada, arrived in Enter
prise, Thursday. Mr. Mallery Is on
the road with a car load of goods.
They will make their home In this
vicinity.

lowa county. A friend, Jack Taylor,
of San Francisco, returned with Put
man, and visited him a few days.
The members of the ninth grada
of the county high school spent sev
eral hours In "study" "with their
classmate, Ju'la Marvin, Tuesday,
night, and s;ent a most enjoyable
evening. Nice refreshments were
served by Mrs. Marvin.

Alex Mavor was injured by an ex
plosion at the rock quarry Tuesday.
He was chambering out a blast hole
and let a stick of giant powder drop
to the bottom, nine feet. It ex
ploded but luckily Mr. Mavor was
leaning back from the hole and only
his right lej was hurt. It being badly
torn and bruised by pieces of rock.

Little Lorlne Williams, youngest

Ed Wilcox was unable to attend

Miss Wllma Courtney visited at the

James Downing made a flying visit
to Evert Rlchman's home in the
Grouse country, a few days ago.

SUGAR FACTORY TO STAY.

Lost Only One Ewe.
E. A. Anderson returned Thursday
from Huntington where he had been
(with the 8 car loads of sheep he
sold to Whlttler. The sheep stood
the trip well, only one being lost
out of the 2000.
