a sawing capacity of 11 2-3 thous

everybody seems to be enjoying the
little we have by sleighridlng.
The Christmas tree at the church
was a success, and the house was
packed with people. There were two
trees which were loaded with pres
ents. The decorations were the fin
est ever had in this part of the
country. There was also a program
that lasted about an hour and a
half, yhe people appreciated the la
bor of both the decorating and the
program commit' ess. They certainly
put In lots of time, and the children
were all glad to see Santa once
more as he is always such a jolly
old fellow.
Everybody reports having had a
nice time at the Christmas dance at
Mr. Walls' last night.
The ferry boat at Troy has been
washed upon the shore by the floating
ice coming down the river and is
now useless as far as crossing is
concerned. Mr. Bell, the mail carrier,
has quite a time crossing with --!! -
mail now. We are in hopes that the
river will not rise any more, as he
has to ford with the mail and if it
should rise it would be impossible for
him to get across,
Mr, Chltwood and Tom Mallory
have gong to Reubens, Ida., on a
short visit.
Later These Items were dated the
26th, but the mall never came on the
26th or the 29th, and I do not know
that it will come today, but we are
in hopes that it will. We think that
the people in this part of the coun
ty need a bridge worse than any
thing else. Then we could at least
