Leonard A. Holding, who has made
his liome in the upper valley for the
last nine months, left Tuesday morning

fruit and vegetable ranch on the banks
of the Wenahu river.
Stanley Brother Wild West Show
will give an exhibition of trained
saddle horses, bucking bronchos,
Mexican rope-spinning and all kinds
of cow boy sports and pastimes at the
ball grounds Saturday afternoon at
2:110. All bad horses will be ridden
free of charge.

Ohio, the newly elected pastor of the
Knterprbe and Joseph 1'reBbyteriaii
cliurilies, is expected to arrive hire
about June 10, and will preach his first
sermon in Knterprise Juno 14. Mr,
Seldon is a young iiiiin, married and
has two children. The parsonage is lie

given him in his home districts and

county who stood faithful to him.
Rev. W. S. Crockett, late of the
Christ'an church at Olvmpia, Wash.,
will arrive in Knterprise, Saturday, to
assume his duties as pastor of the local
Christian church, and will preach his
first sern'on here the following day
Mr. Crockett is spoken of very highly
both as a minister ai d a man, and he
is assured of a cordial welcome to this
valley.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Morgan of Praiiie
Creek Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs
Bullock, hers on, nud her daughter,
Mrs. lllaekiuton, have been visiting
on the Imnaha this winter. They
left Thursday morning for their home
at Prosser, Wash.
O. J. Stanley of tho Stanley Pros,
lid West show, was In town over
Monday night making arrangements
for his company to give an 'exhibition
in this city Saturday. Mr. Stanley
returned to Flora Tuesday to bring the
on 1 11 1 out. He rode the horse that
fell with his brother at Flora last Sat
urday. Tho accident was seen by
many Knterprise people, and all say
the noy liiul a very narrow escape
from death.
The ladies of the Presbyterian church
were invited to spend tho dav Friday
with Miss Hiisim at her home on Alder
Slope. Despite the cold stormy weather
a muni er drove out and all enjoyed a
very happy time. At noon an elaborate
dinner was served by Miss ltasim and
her sister, Mrs. Whitmoro, nud in the
afternoon tho hours soon passed with
music and songs and the sewing of oar
pet rugs. Those present were Mrs
Klmer Kooch of Alder Slope, Mes
dames lorsythe, Ault, Phlps, Maxwell,
Furgason, Kundcll, Hyatt and Boyd
and Miss Kstlier MaxwcM of Knterprise.

The mass meetings held at the
Methodist church Sunday were Inter
esting. In the morning, talks were
made by A. II. Rudd, Thomas Mor
gan, Frank Batchelder and others.
In the evening the church was tilled
and good talks were made by Doctors
Hockelt and Foley, Fred Holmes,
Krt.nk Clark, Ie Henderson and
Fiank Batuhelder.
Mrs. S. L. Burnangh left Monday for
Elgin where she visited a day. Mrs. W.
C. Boatman went out Tuesday and
joined Mrs. Ihirnaiigh and together
they went on to Portland and will
enjoy the "rose carnival this week.
Mrs. Boat Hum will attend the sessions
of the grand lodge Eastern Star as del
egate from the Enterprise chapter. It
will lie held in Portland, Juue 11.12
and 13. Mrs. BurntmtU will tt- from
Portland for a visit with her ucoi.le at
Corvallis. Mr BurnaugU will go to
Corvallls next week to attend the O. A.
C. commencement on June 10. Mr.

opera house Monday night. The per

I' Iches," with Miss Blanche Bryan as
the waif, Mr. Morrie Streeter as Grit
the Newslsiy, and Mr. Harry Terry us
the K-ntucky Coonel. All proved to
tie exceptionally clever in their parU.
