W. C. Wilson is a one pledge candi

his sole care. Mr. Wilson is an old
time school tcaoher and for years was a
farmer In the Paradise country. He
removed to Enterprise this winter.
Mr. Wilson is now finishing a term as
county commissioner.
New announcements In this week's
News Record are L. J. Davles of Union
and J. W. Knowles of 1-a Grande, both
aspirants for the Republican nomina
tion for circuit judge; B. F. Miller of
Promise, candidate for the Democratic
nomination for assessor.
B. F. Miller, a school teacher well
and favorably known In many sec
tions of Wallowa county, is making
the race for assessor on the Democratic
ticket. Mr. Miller, If elected, will be
no novice in the position, as he served
for four years as assessor back at his
oid home in West Virginia. He has
been a resident of this county since
1887, bis homestead being at Promise.
Four years ago Sir. Miller, for party's
si'ke, made the almost hopeless- raoe
for the legislature against Hon. J. H.
Dobbin, and be spent his time
and money In a conscientious canvass,
greatly reducing the Republican majority.
Edgar Marvin was again greeting
many friends in the oountyseat, tne
first of the week. Mr. Marvin Is mak
ing friends with every new acquaint
ance and every friend secured Is dear
gain, there are no losses. Mr. Marvin
baa been a resident of this county
eight years. He is a partner lu the
Cash store at Wallowa, and while a
quiet man he has a genial, sincere
manner that everyone likes. He is a
candidate for the Democratic nomina
tion for sheriff, and if nominated and
elected will be a thorougly capable and
reliable official.
