A. J. Harris of Wallowa is very busy

to remodel his dwelling as "well as com
plete other improvements
If you are in doubt as where to locate
by all means come to the Queen City
Enterprise, tho best town in Eastern
Oregon. Again we say, come.
The Sun at Wallowa is soon to have
assistance in shining. But the light
given needs prismatic attention lor it
is at present confined in a very dense
fog.
Mr. Templeton's wife, mother and
brother,.. Mrs. 8. A. ' Charleston and
Ralph, who have been making a visit
in Enterprise returned to their home
in Portland. '
Fraternal Building Continues
The large crew of men under the
supervision of 8. Hay worth of La
Grande has been divided, a part of
them being at work on the county High
School while the remainder contiuue
work on the Fraternal building here.
In a few days the iroof will be on and
inside work will be rushed. '
Wallowa in Darkness
Wallowa has been in darkness for
some time owing to the removal of the
former plant and enlargement of the
race. A new dynamo is to be installed
and light will again be furnished. A
new bridge has been built across the
race just east of the skating rink.
Lostke Awakening
A few people have got the erroneous
idea that Lostine is not on the Wallowa
county map but they should see the new
improvements under way. S. L.
McKenzle bus disposed of his home and
has almost finishtxl a new dwelling just
to the rear of the drug store. Other
improvements, are' being made and it
looks like Lostinr. would be fully awake
before the opening of the county fair in
October. With more faith in the town
people are improving their property.
County Coirtki Session
'' This has been court week in the
county seat sod many minor matters
have received the attention of the
officials. The principle point of issue
was the handling of petitions sent in
from Joseph and Wallowa asking the
court to appropriate money ' for a
pamphlet containing a write up of
Wallowa county.
The court dismissed the matter fully
and appropriated 1350 for that purpose.
This is a good thing and Wallowa
county will profit greatly b ' it. The
write up should be complete yet short
enough that people who read it will
become Interested Immediately. Too
lengjthy a description often tires the
reader and becomes stale before fiinshed.
Ray as much at possible in few words
and see to it that these pamphlets are
carefully distributed where the travel
ing public will have every opportunity
of obtaining one or more of them.
Wallowa county needs more residents
ami nas wonderful opportunities to
offer the homeseeker and laborer.
