MORE IMMIGRATION,
According to the preparations and
the statements of both railroads and
large real estate firms, there will
be a greater influx of colonists and
jomeseekers to Oregon, this year,
ban during any previous year of the
tate's history. Oregon in general
ind Wallowa county in particular
are glad to know of this.
Enterprise and Wallowa county
jffer much to the settier. As a
:ounty Wallowa is but ia the dawn.
f her development. She i a county
that grojws opportunities. Her op
portunities will continue to multiply
with every cultivated rod of ground,
very increase of wheat and fruit
md vegetable production, every strip
of timothy land snatched from the
jrasp of ,will nature and made to
.contribute to the prosperity -ot man.
a a city Enterprise will respond to
jvery furrow made by the new et-
iler. She will rta In her demands,
is a market, with each increased
area of cultivation And she will
ouild factories and homes, business
es and public Institutions commen
mrate with each stage of Wallowa
jounty progress.
Enterprise was so named becauflB
ihe was conceived! in a spirit of en
terprise, founded upon, a labor of en-
-erprise, and pressed to development
by a determination of enterprise.
aturally there are no drones to En
terprise. The drone, we confess
would not do well here, because he
would not do anything. But for the
jastern man crowded off the popu
ous acres of his eastern nativity,
Enterprise and all Waillowa coun-
y offer untold promises of wealth
oased upon bedrock facts of untold
latural resources. '
If It la true, as we have noi doubt,
hat the present year will witness
he greatest influx of homeseekers
f any previous year, Enterprise and
Wallowa county will get and merit
.heir share of this number. We
lave water power that is going to
waste. We have hundreds of thous
ands of acres of land waiting, the
ultivator. Mountains covered with
snow feeed the unfailing drinking
waiter supply a supply .that to al
ways pure and cold and clear as
crystal. We have homes for men,
ipulence for big investors, and pros
perky for everybody. Come to Wal
owa and come to Enterprise,
