This matter came to be beard at this time on the report of the Board of County Road Viewers for a second reading, as provided by law, said report being in words following to- it: To the Honorable County Court: We, the undersigned board of County Road Viewers, appointed by j the Honorable Court, to view, sur vey and lay oat a county road as prayed for in the petition of Bird Barrett and otbeii, bee l&ive to report: That pursuant to said order we met at the beginning of the pro posed road on tie 4th day of June 1909 the same being the time and place flxel by said order for the rree ing of the undersigned Board of County Road Viewers and took to our assistance John G. Wrav end Luther Trump as chain bearers and Bird Sarrett as marker and proceeded to view, survey and lay out said road a prayed for in said petition, a near as in our opinion a good road can be made at a reasonable expense, taking into consideration the utility, conveni ence and inconvenience and ex pense which will result to individu als as well as the public, if such road shall be established and opened. The said road was surveyed under our directions, aid the same was conspicuously marked throughout, the corners and distances thereon noted, and all tree3 on the line of said road were marked on each of the sides thereof corresponding with the dlre:tlan of said road, with three notches cut through the bark and one inch into the wood, and all trees adjacent to the said line of sail road were plainly blazed on the side facing said road. The beginning and termination of said road and the termination of each mile and intermediate points have ben marked in the ma.iner provided by law, as will more fully appear by the ce.tiXied return of the surveyor of said road, which is hereunto attached and made a part of thl3 report. That in our opinion the said pro posed road should be established for the following reasons: It makes much easier grade than - old road and accommodates more people and the travellne public. The portion of the old road sought to be vacated contains grades as high as 18.7 per cent. The steepest grade on the proposed change is 6.5 per ceat. No damages claimed and none al lowed. TWO MEN INJURED BY EXPLOSION AT LIMEKILN At an explosion at the Christy limekiln in Hurricane canyon Satur day evening, Mr. Christy and J B. Driskell both were injured, the 'lat ter quite seriously, having aa arm and leg broken. Christy was bruis ed and shaken up. Driskeu wa3 assisting Christy in burning lime, the work being well under way when a rain came up suddenly and an explosion occurred.
